Hi!
Hi! I am Maximilian, 29 years old and I study Ethnography and Social and Cultural Anthropology.
Study
What I particularly love about social and cultural anthropology is the wide variety of topics and perspectives. I am especially interested in urban anthropology, as I am very fascinated by cities, emotions, and networks of relationships. All of this can be combined with my love of travel. But sometimes even the simple step to the front door is enough to discover something new. In addition to what you can explore, I am also interested in how you can communicate and present the results of the research well. This has given rise to a further focus of interest in science communication and public anthropology.
Podcasting
Out of the ongoing questioning from friends and family what social and cultural anthropology is and above all ** what to do with it **, the following idea arose: Making my relatively unknown subject a little better known. So I founded a podcast called Apropos Anthropo with some friends. We try to publish our episodes regularly on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.Since November 2020 I have been involved in the production of the knowledge podcast More than a Feeling - Gefühle und Gesellschaft.I am also proud to be involved in the production of the Affect and Colonialism Podcast of the Affect and Colonialism Web Lab since June 2021.
Work
I found inspiration for scientific and interdisciplinary communication as well as for new fields of interest in my work at the Collaborative Research Center 1171 Affective Societies. I have been working there as a student employee in administration and public relations since the end of 2018.
